In 2023, Friends of UW Health awarded $200,000 in grant funding for projects that benefit UW Health patients and families. This money comes from our membership donations, flower sales, and the proceeds from the UW Health gift shops. 

Applying for a Grant

Grants are awarded to UW Health employees for initiatives and/or supplies that align with the mission of Friends of UW Health by supporting patients and families of UW Health. Please review our funding guidelines for more information on criteria and restrictions.

All applications must be submitted online by December 1. Applications may be submitted year-round, but they will be reviewed annually after December 1. Applicants will be notified of Friends’ decision in February, and grant funds must be spent by June 30.

Friends does not consider grant applications for services targeted at patients based on their financial need. Those requests should be sent to Patient Relations for possible funding through the Gail and Gordon Derzon Endowment Fund for Patient Assistance.
