To celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, we are lighting the entrance of University Hospital with pink lights.
Everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer, someone who has given them motivation to live life to the fullest, spread light, and wear pink. Reserve a pink light to celebrate that person in your life who represents your pink light.
Pink lights will illuminate the ceiling at the entrance of University Hospital during the month of October. Buy one pink light for $10, three for $25, one strand of 100 for $100 or a grid for $500. Purchase a light or just make a donation online, or call (608) 890-9957. The donations you make will help our less fortunate cancer patients relieve some of the financial stress of this disease.
Everyone is invited to attend a special indoor celebratory ceremony on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:30 am immediately following the Carbone Race for Research 5K Run/Walk. The ceremony will take place in the Health Sciences Learning Center, located at 750 Highland Avenue, Madison, next to University Hospital. The event will feature Dr. Lee Wilke, director of the UW Health Breast Center. An outdoor lighting ceremony concludes the event at the main entrance of University Hospital.
Start your day off with a beautiful run or walk on the UW Lakeshore path. The race starts and finishes on the UW Surface Lot 60 (2550 Willow Drive, Madison, WI 53705) which is within walking distance from the Health Sciences Learning Center (the location of the Celebration Ceremony). Sign up to start a team or join the UW Health Breast Center’s team. For more information and to register, please visit http://carbonesrace.org/.
