Every day, patients and families walk through the doors of UW Health facing some of life’s most difficult challenges. Through support by Friends of UW Health, hope and healing are possible.

Friends fuels programs and services that directly improve the lives of patients and their loved ones. Last year alone, we provided more than $930,000 in direct support to those who needed it most.

Your membership supports these programs and services and more:

Patient Assistance Funds – Providing essential support for underserved patients, including help with medical supplies, transportation and basic needs.

Wigs for Patients Program – Delivering dignity and confidence to more than 450 cancer patients through complimentary, personally fitted wigs at the new Positive Image Center at Eastpark Medical Center.

Temporary Housing for Patients – Offering complimentary hotel stays so patients traveling for care can be closer to treatment and free from added stress.

Critical Access Food Pantry – Supplying nutritious food for patients facing food insecurity during their first days at home after discharge.

Donors who contribute $25 or more will receive a reusable discount card good for 25% off purchases at University Hospital, American Family Children’s Hospital, East Madison Hospital and Eastpark Medical Center gift shops (some restrictions apply).
